NEWS AND CHANGES ================ Version 0.8 ----------- - Includes questions for LPI-201. This is not as extensive as we would like but hey, you get what you pay for. - Includes many more explanations for LPIC-1 questions. Thanks to Dr Angela Müller for contributing a full set of explanations for LPI-102. - Various other improvements to the code. Version 0.5 ----------- - Adapted to LPI's new policy of not allowing a choice between DPKG and RPM flavours for LPI101. At the moment the old options for »LPI101 (DPKG) « and »LPI101 (RPM)« are still available, but they will disappear in due course. - Many questions (not all) have explanations that can be displayed during exam evaluation. This feature can be disabled. The explanations can refer to external web sites, which are displayed using a user-defined browser (Konqueror or Firefox). - Many corrections, updates and extensions in questions and answers. - New »instructor mode« for classroom use. »lpisim -t« starts the simulator in »instructor mode«; students start their simulators using »lpisim -r IPADDRESS«, which links them to the instructor's simulator. Questions etc. are set by that one, and the instructor gets a special window to follow the progress of the exam. By default, LPISim uses port 7777; the instructor's simulator can be started on another port using the »-p PORTNUMBER« option, while the students must specify »-r IPADDRESS:PORTNUMBER«. - The question pools are now published under a modified GFDL, in order to have some recourse in a situation where the questions are used in online exam simulations without proper attribution. (We are happy to negotiate different terms in individual cases.)
